NEWS: Starting the construction of Song Luy 1 Solar Power Project

On September 23rd, in the Song Luy commune, Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province, the Binh Thuan Photovoltaic Investment Joint Stock Company held the Ceremony for starting construction of the Song Luy 1 SPP.

Song Luy 1 SPP with a capacity of 39 MW, annual average generation of 80,000 MWh and total investment level of VND 998 billion is developed on an area of 45 ha in Song Luy commune, Bac Binh district, Binh Thuan province.

The project includes about 130,000 photovoltaic solar panels made by modern technology of Mono Perc with the efficiency up to 21.3% (the regulated efficiency is 16%) for reducing the project land area, the 22/110kV step-up transformer substation and 66 meters of the 110kV transmission line for connecting the project with the national power system. The project is planned to be put into operation in April of 2019.

Binh Thuan is a province having the highest solar energy potential in the country with the average number of sunshine hours higher than the average hours in the southern Vietnam, stable radiation that is very suitable and convenient for the solar power development.

According to the calculations of Binh Thuan solar power development planning, the total potential capacity of solar power projects in the province plans up to 5,321.5MWp.

It is expected that, in Binh Thuan province, the total installed capacity of solar power project will be approximately 828 MW, with the corresponding output of 1,270 million kWh by 2020, the total accumulated installed capacity - approximately 2,642 MW, with approximately 4,055 million kWh by 2025, and the total accumulated installed capacity - approximately 4,520 MW, with the corresponding electricity output of approximately 6,936 million kWh by 2030.
